Frequently Asked...
When did the Lake House open?
The Lake House is new to the Scappoose area, we opened our doors to events after hosting our first wedding in August of 2017- since then we’ve hosted many types of events and are fielding a long list of inquiries for 2018!
Who owns The Lake House?
Bart Hafeman owns The Lake House, he decided to open his doors to events in 2016. Bart has a love for events and years of experience in the industry. He desires to create a warm, positive atmosphere for unique moments and milestones in life.
What type of events do you host at the Lake House? How many can you hold for an event at the Lake House?
We’ve hosted events for as little as 20 up to 200 people. For winter events the barn can hold up to 85 individuals downstairs and 30 people upstairs- summer events offer more room due to better weather conditions, which allows up to 200 guests.
We entertained all inquiries, we’ve hosted baby showers, class reunions, weddings, birthday parties, memorials, family reunions, holiday events, and much more and it’s all been a blast.! Our main goal is to make our clients vision come to life.
Do you also book music?
Bart Hafeman is widely known as the singer for Hit Machine and because of that he’s been able to entertain at a handful of our events. However, we have hosted small private exclusive events like Jennifer Batten, guitar player for Michael Jackson on the Bad, History and Dangerous world tours. Bart joined in and sang "Human Nature" with her that evening. Tommy Tutone who sang the 80’s hit, "867-5309" has performed on the property as well. We are currently working on a Lake House Summer Concert Series and would love to hear from people about who they would like to see perform at The Lake House.
What makes you different from other venues in Columbia County?
The Lake House offers an incredibly unique atmosphere that carries a rustic and elegant element all at the same time. The barn has a warm intimate feeling that not many venues offer. We’re a very adaptable team and go above and beyond to make sure clients are satisfied.
Additionally, we offer a complete package for the one stop shopper, but we also offer the choice to totally customize an event when desired. We have a list of preferred vendors we work with regularly but are always open to our clients dreams and desires for their event.
What are your prices?
While price largely depends on the time of the year and day of the week we do have a general price list that we use for weekend summer weddings. If your event falls on a weekday or outside of peak season we can be flexible and will asses each event accordingly.
